Alpha 2

We’re putting the finishing touches on our next alpha release. We’ll be taking this release to a wider number of people – mostly friends & family of the current Xfire team.

We’re getting really close. Feature development is nearing completion; we’re almost able to start focusing on refining the UI, bug fixes, and other tweaks…. it’s an exciting time :)

If you’re interested in participating in our upcoming beta period, leave a comment here – we’ll be picking up people as opening come up!

Updates

Couple updates you’ll notice as of March 2nd…

  • The Games tab is now (semi) functional. You can browse around and see the games that are in the database, get some info on them. We’ll be integrating the game-specific tabs as well as better game quickviews, and making the data/cover art you see for each game live.
  • Game search results are more intuitive. Still working on better relevancy.
  • Most people won’t notice yet, but the backend for awarding badges and ranks is in place. You’ll soon be receiving points for the content you submit that gets votes :)

Alpha

Well, we’re finally going to alpha! After months of work (and weeks of continual bug fixes trying to get this version out the door) the alpha for Project X has been turned on. I’ll be using this blog as a temporary place for development news – info about what we’re working on, commentint what you all are saying, and generally keeping you up to date on the progress of Project X.

For now, the alpha is still in limited release. So feel free to play around, dig into it, send us all your comments and bugs and suggestions, share with some close friends and family…but please don’t link to it too prominently anywhere ;) The name and URL will be changing to the final version, and we’ve got a lot of improvements left to make…

So play around and drop us a line with what you think!
